Dubai Festival City’s Hosts Dragon Boat Challenge

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20th February 2019: Dubai Festival City, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s fully integrated mega project, is now accepting registrations for the Dragon Boat Challenge, set to be held on the 1st and 2nd of March.

The Challenge which will be held at the Marsa Plaza Creek is open for corporates, universities, schools and community groups across the UAE. Each team that registers will be given two one-hour training sessions with an international Dragon Boat Coach and all necessary equipment including the Dragon Boat, paddles and life jackets. Each team can have up to 20 paddlers, of which a maximum of 16 can be male.

Commenting on the event, Samer Zabian, Director Residential and Commercial Property at Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, said, “The Dragon Boat challenge is one of the greatest events across the world to bring teams together to display teamwork and show their physical strength. At Dubai Festival City we are always encouraging residents and tourists to take up an active lifestyle and we welcome all aspiring racers and professionals to take part in this challenge.’’

The adrenaline-fueled water sport works on the core values of sportsmanship, strategy and technique, while also instilling positive team spirit, good health and having a good time. Winners of the Dragon Boat Challenge will be awarded and recognized by Dubai Festival City.

Alongside the Challenge, visitors can also shop and dine as the two-kilometre Marsa Plaza promenade offers a waterside walking track with easy access to the landmark Dubai Festival City Mall and direct views of Dubai Creek and the cityscape.
