Dubai Festival City to switch off for Earth Hour

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 22, 2018: Dubai Festival City, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s fully integrated mega project, will join thousands of landmarks, homes, offices and hotels from around the world and the UAE as it marks the world’s biggest environment event – Earth Hour, on March 24.

As a part of the global initiative that is inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet, all non-essential exterior and interior lights will be switched off or dimmed across Marsa Plaza, Al Badia Hillside and Al Badia Residences, Festival Tower and Dubai Festival City Mall for an hour between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. In addition, Dubai Festival City Malls social media channels will go black as a continuing trend from last year.

InterContinental Dubai Festival City is also supporting the cause as their popular restaurants Anise and Choix par Pierre Gagnaire offers guests a candle lit dinner.

Also supporting the global movement is Deira International School whose students participated by switching off all lights in the classroom to reduce electricity consumption across the school. Students were also made aware of their carbon footprint and how they can contribute to reducing it and becoming more eco-friendly.
