With summer come Dubai Summer Surprises and some of the biggest surprise to be had this year are at the House of Illusions Dinner Show at Festival Centre. Everybody is invited.
In addition to the astonishing bargains on offer at Festival Centre’s 450-plus shops and the staggering promotions, with cash prizes and vouchers worth a massive 5 million dirhams, the House of Illusions Dinner Show is set to astound visitors until August 14.
Taking place 5 nights a week throughout Dubai Summer Surprises, the House of Illusions Dinner Show is a child-friendly (but not for children only) live music, magic and comedy act that includes a three-course meal. It has been devised and directed by international award winner and Tony nominee Derek Scott, whose work around the world has been recognised by the entertainment industry.
In store are entertainment delights that will amaze, stun and flabbergast the audience every time. The hostess each night is Romany, Diva of Mystery, who has flown in from Britain to guide guests through the evening with charm, wit, imagination and—above all—mystery.
Alongside Romany, Festival Centre welcomes Van Buren to Dubai for the first time. One of the world’s most celebrated conjuring acts, Van Buren’s show is designed to inspire awe with his illusions and magic, combined with a showman’s circus skills.
Guests are invited to view the show from close quarters, something that Van Buren actively encourages. He says: “Very few illusionists in the world can perform completely surrounded by the audience, but this is an environment that I feel most at home in.”
As an all-round entertainer, Van Buren renders audiences speechless while still keeping an all-important family feel that appeals to all ages.
All this entertainment is accompanied by the sounds of Arabic Breeze, who will join the international performers to play traditional and fusion Arabic live music.
Each House of Illusions Dinner Show lasts for 90 minutes of wonder, with performances from Tuesday until Friday at 6pm and 9pm, with matinee showings on Saturday at 3pm and 6pm.
Every show takes place at the special Spiegel (Mirror) Tent, which is based on one of the world’s most famous venues that dates back to 1920s Europe. There are two sections available in the tent—inner and outer—and ticket prices vary accordingly.
